Why is advantage more important then LP in General?

when does the cost of a card outweight the benefits since i main gishki paying lp is common for me but making sure im always ahead of my opponent in advantage is worth losing lp that won't help me later on in the duel.

there are a ton of cards that let you pay life points for quick advantages. they may let you search, draw, or destroy your opponents cards. betting lp in yugioh is a gamble that might hurt you in the end but if you can quit while your ahead you will probably come out with a win

However you did say when does it stop being an advantage well really this format you're being forced to take a lot of risks playing any sort of deck you want to play, but lets focus on the big 3, shaddolls, BA, and qlips. With shaddolls and BA you have so many floaters that really by laying out a strong field and holding very few peices in your hand wont actually hurt you, but with qli, everytime you go to use scout thats 800lp, not much once or twice but when you're hit by a construct or a dante, and then you start paying that 800lp it's gonna cut you down. Now in reality so long as you continue to have your scout in play without any interruptions you can pay that 800lp as much as you want and still hold advantage, but if each time you pay that 800lp your scout is getting popped maybe its time to find a new strategy.

qlips make you lose LP as well even tho it lets you search

This game is changing a lot. But still, the player who got 0 Life Points still lose (Expect if you do some Alternate Win strategy). I was always the one, who doesen't lose faith in winning the duel before my Life Points reach 0.
